Auputo spends $30 million to build the first digital factory!

What is Digital Factory?
For complex products such as airplanes and automobiles, hundreds of thousands or even millions of parts are required. Not only does the whole machine have to go through the stages of product design, production planning, manufacturing engineering, production execution and after-sales service, but each part also has to go through this process.


If there is a problem at any stage, the final product may not be assembled, so the research and development cycle is very long, and once the production line is running, it is difficult to change the model.


We say that being an industrial enterprise is much more difficult than being an Internet enterprise, because the industrial collaboration system is too large and the industrial chain is too long. Even if there are some management systems within the enterprise, it is like egg fragments in this place. It is not easy to spell this picture well.


The solution of the digital factory is actually very simple. The three of you, even three million of you, are all on the same picture and draw together.


In fact, the digital factory provides a piece of base paper, a bottom database, and then inserts the original systems, research and development, production, manufacturing, and service into a puzzle, which is the so-called "Digital Factory".




Specific how to achieve it?
We can imagine an enterprise, from research and development to production planning, manufacturing engineering, production execution, which is a whole life cycle process.



In this process, we start with product design. The research and development department puts the component list, assembly drawing and test conditions of the design product into a database. The first step is completed and a 1.0 version of the product data model is ready.


Next to the second step, the production planning department, if we still use the data model just now, the content is not enough, because there are only design parameters, not production parameters. Therefore, I will continue to input data on how to produce products, such as process flow and quality standards. This database will naturally expand and become a data model 2.0.


In the third department, the manufacturing engineering department, it is necessary to program the production machine tools, various automatic configurations, and program debugging to further expand the data in the manufacturing process to form a data model 3.0. In this process, I may also need to call the production order information from ERP, get the product design information from PLM, and then get the material information from the logistics system, and integrate these together to interact with the production line to form production. This link is operation management.


In this way, step by step, from 1.0 to N.0, this data model will become larger and larger, and it will continue to expand in a database from beginning to end. In the past, each drew its own paper, and then put it together according to a standard. Now everyone draws on the same paper, adding one by one, from "next... next..." to "side... side". This data model is the virtual factory. When the virtual factory and the real factory realize interaction and synchronization, a digital factory is formed.
